Regional Friendship Camps

Building interfaith friendships, one camp at a time

Friendship Camps build interfaith friendships among children. They are a place where campers learn about religious traditions, deepen their connection to their own faith, and have fun! Inspired by Friendship Camp of Central Arkansas, these camps might include world religion classes, art, music, games, community service, field trips, and more.

Each camp is operated independently by a team of local volunteers, in partnership with diverse faith communities, and under the guidance of a local host organization.

Friendship Camp Norman, OK - 2025

Word of Friendship Camp is spreading! Inspired by her experience at Friendship Camp in Northwest Arkansas, a volunteer brought the idea of Friendship Camp to Norman, OK and helped to start the first Interfaith Friendship Camp in her community at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church in Norman, OK in partnership with other local faith communities.

50 Pre-K-5th grade campers gathered each evening for four days to learn about themes including light, generosity, and celebrations in different religions. Campers enjoyed activities including music, dance, community service, and ended the week with a community potluck and celebration.

Friendship Camp Northwest Arkansas - 2023, 2024

Northwest Arkansas Friendship Camp offered a week of camp for rising 2nd-6th graders in 2023 and 2024. Campers had daily lessons in the world’s religions, art and music and had visits from local non-profits doing transformative work in the community. They also took field trips to local places of worship including a Hindu temple and a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple.

2023’s theme was “Make Some Noise,” exploring how different religions use attire, sound, and our voices to show up in the world. 2024’s theme was “Let’s Celebrate,” highlighting holidays and celebrations in different religions.
