In light of the rain predicted for this weekend, the Interfaith Volunteer Network’s service day this Saturday will be moved to St. James United Methodist Church’s Christian Life Center (320 Pleasant Valley Drive) in their youth gym. We’ll hear the story of Providence Park and do mini-service projects to benefit its future residents. Come ready to learn, serve, and meet people from different faith backgrounds! Lunch will be provided.

Join the Interfaith Volunteer Network for a service day for Providence Park, a new residential community designed to serve the chronically homeless. Individuals and families from all faith backgrounds are invited to serve our community together and build interfaith relationships!
What to expect
Please arrive at the Youth Gym at St. James United Methodist Church’s Christian Life Center (320 Pleasant Valley Drive) at 9 am to sign in and receive a volunteer shirt.
The Providence Park team will welcome us, share about Providence Park, and give an overview of the day’s activities.
We’ll divide up into small groups and rotate through different activities including virtual tours of Providence Park, writing blessings from each of our faith traditions on stones to be placed at Providence Park, a sewing craft station, writing blessings on banners for the new homes, and more.
Throughout the event, you’ll have time to complete an “interfaith get-to-know-you” bingo card that will help you get to know your neighbors from different faiths and win prizes!
Toward the end of the event, we’ll gather for lunch. Box lunches (sandwich, chips, apple. Vegetarian options available.) will be provided by the Steel Center Interfaith Program at Hendrix College.
This event is free and open to the public. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required.

Type “Interfaith Volunteer Network” into the fillable field
During this process, you’ll create a password. Please save this password for the next step!
Step 2 - Sign up for our Oct. 25 volunteer day

Sign in using your email address and the password that you created in the previous step.
On the line that says “Interfaith Group Volunteer Activity,” click the green “schedule” button, and then in the pop up window that opens, click “Schedule Me.”

That’s it! You will receive confirmation emails directly from Providence Park as you register and before this event.
